The 'standard' wedding march - is it something of a cliché?
Full Title The Wedding March (from A Midsummer Night's Dream) by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 – 1847)
Notes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. There is a version available for choir (in Italian only) "Magico Giorno"
Due to the piece's pagan, fantastic inspiration, some church leaders and musicians — particularly in Roman Catholic churches — have found the piece to be inappropriate for a Christian religious ceremony.
Once seen as 'stately', the modern tendency is to play this piece at a lively, brisk tempo.
Duration about 3 minutes

- Piano alone
