There is the whiff of the circus about this sortie (or 'exit music').
Full Title Sortie in B flat by Louis-James Alfred Léfébure-Wély (1817-1869)
Notes If 'grandiose' is what you are looking for, then this Sortie is not for you. It is light-hearted and exhilarating, and will make people smile - they will be waiting for the clowns and trapeze artistes to make an appearance.
Léfébure-Wély was organist at the Église de la Madeleine, and Saint-Sulpice. He was very highly regarded in this day as the most skilled organist in France (which is saying something). His music has largely passed out of fashion, except for pieces like this one, that we now think of as 'novelty' pieces.
