Messe de mariage – Dubois
by
Suitable for: Bridal March | Before the Ceremony | Signing the Registers | Wedding March
A complete suite of wedding music for organ, providing music for the complete service.
Full Title Messe de mariage – Théodore Dubois (1837-1924)
Notes A short suite of organ pieces:
- Entrée de cortège - an expansive, grand processional march, suitable for a large church (and a large organ)
- Bénédiction Nuptiale - like the fluttering of angels' wings
- Offertoire - solemn (
- Invocation - very soft and gentle
- Laus Deo (Sortie) - I can't understand why this isn't better known: it is loud and bangy to begin, then goes hell-for-leather with French toccata-like figuration. It is very enjoyable for listener and player alike.
Duration The Offertoire is about 6 minutes
Performers required
- Organ alone
