Grand Choeur – Guilmant

A march in three-four (!) - loud and boisterous.

Full Title Grand Choeur in D (alla Handel) by Alexandre Guilmant (1837 – 1911)

Notes How Guilmant could have thought that this grand work was in the style of Handel, I have no idea. They must have played Handel differently in France a hundred years ago. It is a lively and stirring work.

Duration 2 and a half minutes

Performers required

  • Organ alone

Source of printed music Original organ music published by Durand in the 4th volume of Pièces dans différents styles, 1904.
